Normally, anxiety disorder treatment can take two forms: medications and cognitive behavioral therapy. In the treatment of this disorder, medications may not produce as good results as psychological therapies in the long run. Pills may keep anxiety levels down, but only for as long at they remain in the blood stream. Remember that drugs and alcohol may actually contribute to the problem. Medications are only effective in the short term; excessively use of them can really aggravate the situation.
